HealdsburgHealdsburg woke up from its sleepy dream about ten years ago and became known as the California wine country town with “rustic chic.”

The Healdsburg plaza bustles with 5-star restaurants and tasting rooms.  And, just a few blocks off the square are lovely Victorian neighborhoods that are a pleasure to explore. And the Healdsburg plaza, founded in 1873, is a center for live music, complete with bandstand, and an outdoor marketplace.

Healdsburg is one of the favored towns in Wine Country, and it’s working to keep the right mix of modern and history, various types of shops, and even has an exotic fan museum.  The point is to keep the town from leaning too heavily in favor of just wine and all that goes with it.   A collective group of artists, Stark Raving Beautiful, have the motto, “Keep Healdsburg Weird.”

Healdsburg is anything but weird.  It is a lovely mix of old-country Europe, small town America, and cutting edge food and wine experiences.  Tucked between three lush valleys and surrounded by over 200 wineries, many of them home to multi-generations of family winemakers, it is simply beautiful in every direction.

Just 65 miles north of San Francisco, Healdsburg is an easy day trip from the Bay Area, and an easy flight from Anywhere, USA.   Come, enjoy!
